JOE Biden seemingly confirmed he chose his running mate — but the news was quickly taken back by his campaign.
While bike riding in Delaware on Saturday, Biden was asked by a Fox News reporter if he had picked a running mate yet.
“Yes I have,” he says in a video from the scene.
When asked who it was, Biden jokingly told the reporter he chose them as vice-presidential candidate.
But shortly after, Biden’s press secretary, TJ Ducklo, tweeted: “Folks, this is clearly a joke.”
“When Vice President Biden has made a decision on who his running mate will be, he will let the American people know. And can confirm, it’s not @pdoocy of @FoxNews.”
Biden has pledged to choose a woman as his VP — and is facing calls to choose the first black woman to compete on a presidential ticket.
He previously said there were four black women among his shortlist of running mates, including California Senator Kamala Harris, California Representative Karen Bass, and former national security adviser to Barack Obama, Susan Rice.
He is expected to announce his running mate sometime before the start of the Democratic Convention on August 17.
